ReplyDeleteAs you can see, you can vote for more than one if you really cannot narrow it down to just one. I have a fondness and loyalty to the original series because it started it all and Captain Kirk is...well, Captain Kirk! I really enjoyed The Next Generation especially the introduction of the Borg. Voyager really captured my imagination. The most recent show, Star Trek Enterprise - while I really like Scott Bakula - I had trouble how it was supposed to take place before the orignial series, yet had much better special effects, etc. Purist will note that I haven't included Deep Space Nine, that is because I never got into it - I didn't get the same connection as the others that had spaceships venturing out and encountering places that no man has gone before.
ReplyDeleteThe original series was great, but I think I liked Next Generation more. It's amazing that a lot of the gadgets that seemed 'so far out' on those shows are reality today.

I really never got past the original series and have to say I liked them best. I think the newer series just got to be a bit too outrageous for me, and I found myself lost in it, and I think the makers were just looking for newer, better ways to improve on something that was already a good thing to begin with. But maybe I'm just a bit old fashioned, who knows???

Of course the original can never be matched.... Kirk sleeping with a different color girl each week...but I would have to say Enterprise is my favorite now (although I keep expecting CPT Archer to leap through time) I also like Voyager- 7 of 9 is hot and CPT Janeway reminds me of Kathrine Hepburn.... Next Generation is the worst! That may be because the first few episodes I saw (not in order...just the way I watched them on CD) Picard turned over his ship to the enemy.... sure he got it back- but Kirk would have self destructed before allowing a borg on his bridge. I do however like the phrase- "you will be assimilated- resistance is futile" it reminds me of the Army.
